Another day another magicat demo
The Big Idea
- Lower stakes, non-traditional combat while still having a combat feel
- Instead of worrying about player HP, the main focus is protecting the houses
- Instead of reducing enemy HP, the main focus is repositioning enemies
- Instead of "combat", it's actually herding
Future Iterations
- Implement house HP
- Instead of houses being destroyed and the player constantly cleaning that up (not fun)
- Houses that are attacked enough get "cursed" and the curse will affect the NPCs who live there
- You can restore the house and NPC by alleviating the curse (possibly more than one way to do it, more fun)
- Implement magic stamina
- Maybe stamina meter Only for the trap attack
- If an enemy touches the player, then some of the stamina is depleted
- When all stamina is depleted, magical girl detransforms and the night is over
- This promotes having more than one enemy per trap attack
- Implement enemy loot
- Destroying more than one enemy per trap attack can raise chances for better drops
- Implement enemy AI
- Right now they are not smart at all
- Also their physics are wild
- Implement "light blue power square"
- The idea behind this is there are multiple potential places in the village that these can be built/moved to
- During the day the player can strategize where they want to be able to put their trap attacks by moving these squares
- Maybe also can move them during the night but they are heavy and make you move slow so its a waste of time
- Early game only has a few places to put them, and only a couple can be created
- Implement better moveset
- Right now there are only 2 ways to move enemies (wave attack and dash)
- Think about what kind of moves for repositioning would be fun
- ex. Making a big ghost hand and picking up to throw/carry enemies
- Play a song to lure enemies to follow you
- Lightning chain grapple enemies
- Big map wide disruption wave to buy time
